Field Day + BBQ Pass: 10th Annual SK Family BBQ
UPDATE: After walking a long, emotional, road together, and several postponements beyond anyone’s control, it is with supreme excitement and a sigh of relief that we are able to announce the new rescheduled dates, September 10th & 11th, 2021. We expect this year’s event to, in many ways, be the penultimate SK Family BBQ, if only because, against all odds it’s happening. Stephen will be performing 3 full-band sets throughout the weekend including one all-acoustic, one all-electric and one extra special afternoon family set at Olney Park. Additionally, we’ll have guest performances from Taylor Carson and Lee Totten. There will be a BBQ and some socially distanced games on the Saturday afternoon. We’ll be following CDC safety guidelines and savoring the opportunity to be physically together in a space with you for the first time in more than a year and a half.
Please email Jessica at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Thank you!
What is the SK Family BBQ Weekend?
We are on our 10th annual (!!!) now and no two years have ever been the same. Simply put, it's a gathering of fans young and old for music, hang time with SK and the greater SK Family BBQ community. The weekend features two SK concerts with a day of low-intensity, socially distant field games, a BBQ lunch and acoustic set. It all concludes with a Saturday night concert. Bring your blankets and come hang with us!
Are All Ages Welcome?
YES! We have noticed a shift in the demographics of our base over the years and we love that entire families, kids included, love being part of the SK community. That being said, the concerts on Friday and Saturday nights respectively are in a traditional music venue. You know your kids. If they can hang late and dig a fully amplified concert, cool! If you’d have more fun leaving the kids behind that night, cool! For that reason, we’ve ticketed the Saturday Field Day + BBQ events separately, with tiered prices to accommodate all members of the fam. There are going to be games, BBQ and lots of room to run. Perfect for all ages. (Sorry- pets need to stay at home! Exceptions will be made for service animals.)
Where is it being held this year?
This year’s event will take place in Northern Virginia, right outside Washington D.C. The venue is Jammin Java in Vienna, VA. Olney Park (a mere two miles away) is in Falls Church, VA. The Westin is right in between. This will be our 4th year over the decade using these spots for our festivities. We always have a blast and we hope you do too!
How do I get there?
This spot is a stone’s throw from our nation’s capitol. By plane, you’re good with Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) or Reagan National (DCA). Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) is also a good bet, especially if you’ll also be renting a car. The area is also easily accessible by car or train for our non-air travelers too!
Where do I stay?
The gorgeous Westin Tysons Corner. We have secured a fantastic rate of only $99! In order to access this rate at The Westin, please mention SK Family BBQ” Or click here to Book your group rate for SK Family BBQ HERE!
What does my ticket cover?
In order to access all events for the weekend you’ll need two tickets. One ticket covers the Friday and Saturday night concerts at Jammin Java, along with an exclusive, limited edition autographed event poster, a meet and greet photo opp and cocktail hour with SK and the boys. The second ticket is the Park Pass and that covers your BBQ lunch/field games and acoustic set. Concert ticket can be found HERE.
I Don’t Have Anyone to Go With. Should I Still Come?
Absolutely! One of the coolest aspects of the SK Family BBQ is how welcoming the Fan Family is. Come by yourself, leave with new friends. Guaranteed.
